Cookie notice & choices
Updated 17 September 2026. Read our privacy notice for information about how website data is used and your rights.
Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies help forms and administration work securely. Accept cookies in the main banner allows our first-party website statistics and Google's reCAPTCHA form protection. You can choose them separately below, or reject optional cookies. Analytics and Google verification stay off until you allow their respective purposes. Declining does not stop you browsing or contacting us by telephone or email. This website does not install advertising pixels; Google controls its own cookies when verification is allowed.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | Essential session: form security, submitted-form feedback, login and requested interactions. Not used as the analytics visitor ID. | Browser session |
| jb_analytics | Essential preference: remembers allow/decline. Set when you make a choice. | 90 days |
| jb_recaptcha | Essential preference: remembers your separate Google verification choice, the notice version and choice time. Set only when you choose allow or decline; not an analytics identifier. | 90 days |
| jb_visitor | Optional analytics: a random browser ID used to estimate unique browsers. Set only when you allow analytics. | 90 days |
Your choices
Current analytics choice: not set — analytics are off. We also respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If either signal is enabled, analytics remain off even if you previously allowed them.
You can use these controls or the Cookie choices link on every page at any time. Declining removes the visitor cookie and this browser's pseudonymous site-analytics records from the active database. Consent/withdrawal evidence is retained for up to 90 days. Previously aggregated blog totals cannot identify a browser and are not reversed. If cookies have been cleared already, we may no longer be able to associate earlier analytics with your browser.
Google Maps, reCAPTCHA and external links
The About Us map appears automatically from a locally hosted image. Viewing it does not contact Google or OpenStreetMap or set map cookies. If you choose Open Google Maps & directions, Google receives your connection/browser information on its website and may use its own cookies under its privacy policy and cookie information. Map data: © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL.
Forms use Google's reCAPTCHA service for spam protection. After you choose Accept cookies in the main banner, or allow verification using the controls below, it loads automatically on pages with an enquiry, review or blog-comment form. If you have not allowed it, submitting the form opens a consent prompt before Google is contacted. The older analytics-only permission is not treated as permission for Google verification. Google receives connection/browser information and may set the _GRECAPTCHA security cookie, plus other Google cookies depending on your Google session. Google controls their lifetimes; see its privacy and cookie information linked above. You can decline and contact us by telephone or email instead.
Google verification choice: not loaded — JavaScript is needed to read or change this preference.
Withdrawing stops automatic Google verification on subsequent form visits. Cookies already set on Google's own domains cannot be removed by this website; you can clear them in your browser's cookie settings. This does not change your analytics choice. Your preference is remembered for 90 days; you can change it at any time.
Social, professional-directory and YouTube links open the provider's website; their policies apply after you follow the link. No social-media tracking widgets or YouTube player are embedded here.
